The sun shone on Boat of Garten for the ‘Wild about Boat’ Osprey Festival on 25 May 2013 and residents and visitors enjoyed a great day of walks and workshops. 300 people turned out for the formal opening of the Station Square with our Osprey Feather and Horse & Cart sculptures and stayed on to enjoy the BBQ and the great jazz played by Nigel’s Nonsense.
Many, many thanks to our title sponsors Speyside Wildlife and to our funders Scottish Natural Heritage and the Cairngorms National Park Authority.
Our raffle was a great success, with prizes donated by RSPB Loch Garten, Merrell, and a Mortimers of Speyside in Grantown! Prizes for the Pavement Art competition were provided by Derwent Pencils!
Thanks also to our local partners: Boat of Garten Community Hall, the Community Council, St Columba’s Church, Deshar School, Strathspey Steam Railway, RSPB Loch Garten, BSW Timber Group, the Badenoch & Strathspey Community Transport Company, the Boat Hotel, Andersons Restaurant and Moorfield House.
